LAZARUS KANE NIGHT WALKING

That semi-fictitious Arizonian fiend Lazarus Kane has finally followed up his epic Speedy Wunderground debut 'Narcisuss' with something equally consumable. Allegedly written as a Bond theme for Live And Let Die back in 1973, 'Night Walking' narrowly lost out to Paul McCartney and Wings, as a result of Sir Sean Connory's supposed love of unexpected reggae intersections (obviously). Backstory aside, the deceptively young-looking songwriter's second outing is a funky take on groove-based disco-punk. Anchored by a simple yet effective bass line, jagged guitars strum frantically on the upstroke around Kane's croony vocal that's oddly reminiscent of Billy Idol in places.
